CANCELO TO START WEEKEND GAME

Joao Cancelo could make his first start for Manchester City this weekend  at Norwich according to reports.

The defender made a big-money move this  summer but has had to make do with a place on the bench with Kyle Walker in great form. The Portuguese international will be joining a group of right-backs from the nation to grace the Premier League.

This includes Paulo Ferreira and Jose Bosingwa who played for the Chelsea during the start of the Abramovich era.

Cancelo loves to bomb forward and under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola can develop into a world-class talent. However, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to dislodge Walker from the first team.

Manchester City are two points behind rivals Liverpool in second place.

Meanwhile Manchester Unitedare ready to make an offer for Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff.  The Red Devils were after the player in the summer but a move failed to materialize.

Newcastle wants to get premium value for the player and are demanding £25 million for the player. Longstaff enjoyed a good debut season for the Magpies making 13 appearances before suffering a knee ligament injury in March.

It is thought that Newcastle does not want to sell the youngster and are demanding such fee to deter United from signing the player.

Longstaff came through the ranks with the club and had loan spells at two different clubs before making his debut last season.

The 21-year-old is known for his ability to break down opposition attacks and plays predominantly as a defensive midfielder. He is viewed by United as a long-term replacement for Serbian midfielder NemanjaMatic.

Longstaff signed a new contract with the club last December that expires in 2022. Newcastle new manager Steve Bruce has already made Longstaff a key figure in the midfield this season.
