Chelsea cruising behind in Barclays Premier League

Chelsea has always been ahead in the title race this season as far as Barclays Premier League is concerned, but, now, they are just cruising.

It would almost be criminal if they let it slip from here.
They would have been a little annoyed and embarrassed last week to have been stopped on draw by Burnley, but, the Cup title that they grabbed a couple of days ago beating Tottenham would have helped them put that disappointment behind.

They are to take on West Ham United next and winning that game would make them go 8 points clear at the top. That would be a huge lead.

Chelsea is looking good for Europe too this time around. So, they might well end up with a treble.

Chelsea’s composition in the West Ham game might be a little different from what it was in the Cup final.

José Bosingwa career with Portugal National Team almost over

Former Chelsea defender José Bosingwa’s international career with the Portugal national team looked all but over after being left in the cold by Paulo Bento.

After a poor run of results, Bento departed the national team and was replaced by Fernando Santos. The former Greek coach has immediately recalled a number of players who were not included by Bento. This, first and foremost, includes Bosingwa, who won the Champions League in 2012 with Chelsea. Former Chelsea players like Ricardo Carvalho have also been brought back to the international fold.

Redknapp wants Crouch back

Harry Redknapp, the man in charge of QPR, would like to get reunited with Peter Crouch this winter. He said that in the press conference after his team’s encounter against Stoke City a few days ago.
That match had ended in a draw as both the teams had found the net twice. The second goal for Stoke was scored by Crouch.
Crouch, despite being 33 now, showed tremendous agility while completing that strike. He beat his former England teammate Rio Ferdinand on his way through to make the score 2-1 in the favour of his team.
The Rangers, later on, managed to level thanks to Niko Kranjcar.
It was the first draw that QPR played in the league this season. Out of their previous 4 games, they had lost 3, while, won one. This draw moved them slightly up to no. 18 in the table.

QPR Recall Cesar

The move to Toronto FC was a way for Julio Cesar to continue playing and maintain his fitness before the World Cup started.

During the previous season of the Championship League, Harry Redknapp preferred utilizing the services of Robert Green instead of Julio Cesar as Green finished the campaign by securing 18 clean sheets; he played a huge role in QPR’s journey of earning a promotion spot back to the Premier League.

FOCUS ON ALBERT RIERA

Albert Riera Ortega is a Spanish football player who plays both as a left winger and left defender. He shot to fame after he shined at Espanyol and went on to win Copa Del Rey and a UEFA Cup Final appearance in 2006.

His professional career also extended to Greece, England and France and he made the Spanish national team in 2007. Riera was born on 15th April 1982 in Manacor, Spain and he was capped 16 times for his country.

COSTA LINKED TO CHELSEA

Diego Costa has been one of the breakout stars this season having already scored 19 goals, its no wonder why he is one of the most sought out players in Europe.

Chelsea and Arsenal were linked with the Brazilian forward but the director of football of Atletico Madrid Jose Luis Caminero is confident that Costa is not interested in making a move to any other club.

He said in an interview with Marca: “Right now Costa does not think of leaving, he is contracted to Atletico. He has renewed with us which is important. He has shown that he wants to continue at this club.”

Trabzonspor will look to hit Legia on the break

Turkish club Trabzonspor has had a fine start to their season in Europe, sitting pretty at the top of the UEFA Europa League table with seven points from their opening three matches as they travel to Warsaw to take on Legia Warszawa, knowing full well that a win would put them in pole position to secure qualification into the next round of the competition.

But that doesn’t mean they can take their Polish opponents from granted with their record against Polish sides not being that great. The Turkish side boasts of a record of two wins and three losses in their last five encounters against Polish sides with both of those wins coming at home and two of their three losses coming in Poland.

Trabzonspor keen on Newcastle striker Cisse

Turkish giants Trabzonspor have made a stunning move to bring Newcastle United’s Senegalese striker Papiss Demba Cisse to the club as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the UEFA Europa League campaign.
The Turkish side has already added the likes of Florent Malouda and Jose Bosingwa from Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers respectively and having been already linked with a move for Fluminense striker and Brazilian international Fred, it seems the Turkish giants are keen to bring in Cisse after seemingly giving up the chase for Fred who has a very high buyout clause.

Former Portugal international defender Jose Bosingwa is set to become the second former Chelsea player to sign for Turkish giants Trabzonspor with reports emerging from Turkey stating that the Queens Park Rangers is in the country to finalize his move from Queens Park Rangers.

The former FC Porto defender endured a torrid time at London club Queens Park Rangers last time and with the Turkish club which will be playing in Europe next terms offering him an escape route when there were no takers for his signature, decided to jump ship at the first opportunity.

QPR FACE RELEGATION

QPR are certainly facing down the barrel after becoming seven points adrift of safety with only seven matches remaining in the season. No club has survived this position to stay in the Premier league.

However, things are extremely different with QPR due to the huge finances involved. The club signed several players on huge wages, which means that they will be in an unsustainable position if they go down to the Championship even with the parachute money.
