QPR Recall Cesar

Prior to the start of the 2014 World Cup, the Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar made a move to the MLS side Toronto FC on a loan deal which concluded a few days ago as Queens Park Rangers recalled the veteran player. The move to Toronto FC was a way for Julio Cesar to continue playing and maintain his fitness before the World Cup started.

During the previous season of the Championship League, Harry Redknapp preferred utilizing the services of Robert Green instead of Julio Cesar as Green finished the campaign by securing 18 clean sheets; he played a huge role in QPR’s journey of earning a promotion spot back to the Premier League.

Even before the Championship League had started, Redknapp had already revealed to the public that he already had thought about the goalkeeping position for QPR and it was Robert Green who secured the spot.

Julio Cesar made 7 league appearances for Toronto FC during his time playing with the American club as they gave their appreciation towards QPR after releasing him Toronto FC even though it only was for a short period of time.

Toronto GM Tim Bezbatchenko said: “On behalf of everyone at Toronto FC, I’d like to send our sincere thanks to QPR for the opportunity to bring Julio to Toronto. We’d also like to thank Julio for everything he brought to our club. He made an immediate impact and all of us are better for it.”

The future of Julio Cesar remains cloudy as the Brazilian goalkeeper is not expected to play an important role for QPR. Robert Green has been making standout performances for the club and Redknapp has already expressed his admiration towards Green which leaves Julio Cesar without any clear indication of what to do next, either move to another club or simply hang up his boots and retire.
