DIDIER DROGBA: JOSE BOSINGWA WAS BEHIND CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WIN

Former Chelsea striker, Didier Drogba revealed that his former team mate, Jose Bosingwa, was behind the success of the UEFA Champions League win while at Stamford Bridge.

The Ivorian skipper said the Portuguese defender was the mastermind of the club’s famous 2012 Champions League win.

Bosingwa currently with Turkish side, Trabzonspor, played for the EPL giant, Chelsea, from the 2008/2009 to the 2012/2013 season when he left on free transfer to fellow English side, Queen Park Rangers.

The Portuguese defender, though with a year contract extension option, will end his current contract with the club this summer. Bosingwa has struggled with fitness with the club since leaving QPR and will likely see to the end of his career in Turkey.

The Champions League win that has occurred shows that Jose Bosingwa was the main player to have made the win.

He had played as a center back at the Nou Camp. Didier Drogba made the revelation that Jose was the main reason behind the win.

It’s no wonder then that Jose held up the trophy when the finals came and Chelsea became the winner. Jose was the defender in the 2012 game that brought the team their victory. Being of Portuguese origin, he had played a vital role in the second leg of the semifinal game where the team played against Barcelona. All this and more has been revealed by Drogba, who is writing Jose’s autobiography.

Jose Bosingwa makes a return to Trabzonspor

Jose Bosingwa originally joined Trabzonspor back on July of 2013 as he penned a 3 year long contract with the Turkish club and he went on to make over 50 appearances in 2 seasons but his time with Trabzonspor ended sooner than expected as Bosingwa left the club on November of 2015 after not being paid in wages.

Even though Bosingwa appeared to have made his way out of Trabzonspor in bad terms after claiming that he wasn’t paid his salary, it seems like the veteran defender still has a close relationship with the club as he made his return to the Turkish club in a transfer that was completed during the January transfer window, only 2 months after Bosingwa had left Trabzsonspor.

Gary Neville reckons that the Three Lions were bound to suffer a bit of failure during the transition phase that they were going through over the last 3-4 years and thus, what came off in Brazil in 2014 was not a total surprise.

Neville considers the team as more settled now and believes the results might be good in the Euros.

English could not get through the group stage in Brazil which had angered and disappointed the fans back home.

But, Neville is not of the view that anything big should have been expected off England in World Cup.

When it comes to the coaching staff, Steve Gallen was added to the first-team coaching staff. Gallen has been working with the youth academy team since 1997 but will now be having a more direct connection with the main team as he was promoted and is going to be working alongside Chris Ramsey.

Chelsea cruising behind in Barclays Premier League

Chelsea has always been ahead in the title race this season as far as Barclays Premier League is concerned, but, now, they are just cruising.

It would almost be criminal if they let it slip from here.
They would have been a little annoyed and embarrassed last week to have been stopped on draw by Burnley, but, the Cup title that they grabbed a couple of days ago beating Tottenham would have helped them put that disappointment behind.

José Bosingwa career with Portugal National Team almost over

Former Chelsea defender José Bosingwa’s international career with the Portugal national team looked all but over after being left in the cold by Paulo Bento.

After a poor run of results, Bento departed the national team and was replaced by Fernando Santos. The former Greek coach has immediately recalled a number of players who were not included by Bento. This, first and foremost, includes Bosingwa, who won the Champions League in 2012 with Chelsea. Former Chelsea players like Ricardo Carvalho have also been brought back to the international fold.

Redknapp wants Crouch back

Harry Redknapp, the man in charge of QPR, would like to get reunited with Peter Crouch this winter. He said that in the press conference after his team’s encounter against Stoke City a few days ago.
