SURPRISE MOVE FOR RIBERY THIS SUMMER

Franck Ribery could be on his way out of the Bayern Munich set-up this summer, according to reports.

The 34-year old was part of the team that recently lifted the Bundesliga for a record time but with the German club keen on luring Chilean Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, Ribery might be the opportunity cost.

Le10Sport say Ribery could return to the Ligue 1 to play for Marseille. The French star played there between 2005 and 2007, helping them to Coupe de France before his move to Bayern. He agreed to a one-year deal few months back but if Sanchez’s deal goes through, he could still leave the club.

The report claims that Marseille chief Jacques-Henri Eyraud already contacted the Bayern management about a likely deal. It could be where the star could see off his illustrious career.

The player was hot cake back in 2008 and he almost became a Premier League star. Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently revealed how Chelsea wanted to buy the player back them for €65 million that they added right back Jose Bosingwa to the deal.

Rummenigge said they were flattered by the deal but that it was a turning point for the club as they became ‘a buying club.’

The club has remained dominant in German football and excelled on the continental stage. Sanchez’s deal would be hard to pull off after Arsene Wenger said he would do everything to keep the player. The recent FA Cup victory and the backing of the French tactician might soil Bayern’s hope for the Copa America two-time winner.
