Jose Bosingwa is ruled out of the match against Tottenham due to injury. The Portugal international limped out of the club's 1-0 defeat to Marseille in the Champions League on Wednesday night with a hamstring injury, leaving Michael Essien to fill in at right-back.

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed: "Bosingwa has a hamstring problem, so he's not available for the next game."

Jose Boswinga's place is likely to be taken by fellow Portugal player Ricardo Carvalho, who replaced him in last week's 1-1 draw against Everton at Stamford Bridge.
